Researcher and lecturer in Media Policy and Media Economics at the University of Salzburg (Austria). In his early career, he published on phenomenology and digital media. His current research interests are democratic theory, normative theories of news media, news media structure and digital communication governance. He recently co-edited with Josef Trappel "The Media for Democracy Monitor 2021" (Gothenburg: Nordicom, 2021) and currently heads the project EurOMo (Euromedia Ownership Monitor).
